For families & young adults
Questions about growth, puberty & weight
A simple way to organize what you have noticed. This is a conversation guide, not a screening test or a diagnosis.
Make a short timeline
- What changed, and approximately when did you first notice it?
- Has the change been gradual or sudden?
- What other symptoms or changes in routines have you noticed?
- Which medicines or supplements are being taken?
- Are previous growth measurements or test results available?
Make room for the young person’s questions
Ask what they want to understand. Focus on health, comfort and daily life, without blame or appearance judgments. Tell the clinician if a topic would be easier to discuss privately.
Bring these questions
- What patterns are you looking for?
- Do we need tests now, or should we observe changes over time?
- What can we do at home that supports healthy growth?
- When should we follow up, and which changes should prompt an earlier call?
If symptoms are severe or sudden, seek timely medical care rather than waiting to complete this guide. For an emergency, call 911.
